Newton Aycliffe Precinct Redevelopment

November has seen the completion of one of this year’s more challenging projects, the refurbishment of the Beveridge Way shopping precinct at Newton Aycliffe. This project involved extensive refurbishment to the existing shopping precinct to give it an exciting and modern feel which it is hoped will enhance the shopping experience for local residents.

With the majority of the works being undertaken through the centre of the precinct during the day, and works immediately in front of the stores being undertaken at night, this project required meticulous planning to ensure that the stores were able to continue trading during the refurbishment. In addition, because of the close proximity of the general public during the works, Health and Safety were paramount.

A close working relationship was maintained throughout the project with the Centre Manager, Bryan Haldane, and the favourable comments we received during the works, and since they completed, shows that these works have been well received in the local community.

This project was a continuation of works we undertook in 2012 when we built a new Aldi store at one end of the precinct.
