Premier Inn, Birmingham Canalside

 

This project involved the construction of a 35 bedroom extension to an existing Premier Inn, over five storeys. Works included:

  • Creation of temporary external access to restaurant
  • Diversion of services
  • Creation of temporary entrance to hotel
  • Sub structure works including piling, construction of foundations and construction of lift pit.
  • Construction of ground floor slab
  • Erection of structural steel frame and concrete slab to first floor level
  • Installation of timber frame superstructure (Inc. shaft wall to lift shaft) for remaining four floors
  • Construction of new lift shaft capping and demolition of existing block work to lift shaft
  • Installation of timber roof structure and roof coverings to pitched roof
  • Installation of lift shaft roof covering
  • External masonry works to each floor.
  • Installation of roof line fascia’s and soffits and rain water goods
  • Installation of windows and doors to all floors.
  • Installation of new restaurant entrance staircase
  • Construction of new Reception lobby
  • Breakthrough to existing hotel via a bedroom on each floor.
  • Demolish existing internal walls of these bedrooms, undertake structural alterations to external openings, install stud partition walls & integrated services to form stores.
  • Make good to wall and floor connections of new store rooms
  • Creation of new Plant Room
  • Installation of services to all floors
  • Internal fit out works to corridors and bedrooms on each floor.
  • Installation of lift
  • External works including new paving, tarmacking and landscaping
